Colour Sound Experiment uses EK at high-profile gigs.

An interview with Alex Ryan of Colour Sound Experiment (London) proved engaging and informative. We were surprised to learn just how often the firm’s Electro Kabuki system is used in its staging work.

With EK so dependable, kabuki drop effects are actively recommended by Colour Sound Experiment, so EK features regularly in its staging for high-profile events. “It’s a stable product and we’ve used it for years,” says Alex, explaining that the company has around 100 EK modules deployed on international touring projects in the UK and the US.

Electro Kabuki features in Tom Odell’s current Black Friday tour (see video), was used recently by Colour Sound Experiment at Coachella California in April and for the Jungle set at this year’s Glastonbury, as well as for David Gray and Saxon in 2023.

We know that EK systems endure a challenging life on tour and at festivals. Alex says that occasional cable issues in the past, resulting from rough handling, have been eliminated by always using the End of Line Indicator (EOLI) to confirm all connections and cable integrity.
